Ultrasonic cleaning systems

The intermediate and final cleaning of items such as turbine blades and nozzle guide vanes (NGV)  requires ultrasonic cleaning. This removes contaminants such as process residues, oil, polishing compounds, particulate, wax and grease. A variety of liquid maintenance options ensure optimum performance time after time, and an oil separator gives the ability to use de-emulsifying cleaners. The different tank sizes make the units suitable for use in a production or maintenance environment.

Ultrasonic cleaning is ideal for removing large quantities of contamination and for cleaning tasks that require a multi-stage process. The two different multi-frequency fields ensure real flexibility for the range, which allows for very high precision cleaning or less arduous tasks alike.

Spray wash

The AC range are heavy-duty, aqueous front-loading, spray washing machines.  They have proved incredibly popular for cleaning and degreasing large, heavy components. Manufactured from stainless steel, the AC programme comprises single and multi-stage units with options for one, two or three process tanks. Standard sizes range from one to three metres in diameter and up to 4 tonne load weight, although larger machine sizes are also available.

ACV Machine

Precision cleaning with rotation

Turbex’s precision cleaning with rotation machines is perfect for cleaning turbine blades, segments, and NGVs alike. Patented technology, which features the rotation of basket and nozzle systems in the opposite or same direction, sets global standards within the cleaning industry. Our machine models are each based on a high-energy principle, ensuring clean and efficient solutions tailored to your individual cleaning requirements.

The range includes the spray-flood systems of the PALMA, PALMA XL and JAVA, and the spray cleaning systems of the ELBA, KEA, and PURA. The main characteristic of the JAVA, PALMA and PALMA XL series is the patented cleaning and drying technologies.

Anodising

With over thirty years of experience in providing highly advanced, tailor-made plants to the aluminium and plating industry, Turbex is now a leader in the field. Continuous development ensures that we achieve different technological solutions to create improved and more efficient processes for sectors where precision, fault-free operation is required.

Tartaric sulphuric anodising (TSA) lines are becoming more commonly used in the manufacture of airframe parts. They provide excellent corrosion protection and paint bonding properties for aluminium. Its automated control system ensures accurate film thickness. TSA offers a reliable and environmentally-friendly anodising option and can be delivered as a new anodising line or as a conversion to older lines

Chemical cleaning

Aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations typically use chemical cleaning lines (CCL), which is the process of cleaning parts of turbine jet engines or auxiliary power units (APU). Their high technical and operational performance offers a user-friendly and efficient system.

Turbex has more than thirty years of experience in pioneering the next generation of fully-automated cleaning lines. We ensure that the latest technological innovations in improving performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental sustainability are applied. For this reason, these machines are the preferred choice by the most significant operations in the aviation industry worldwide.

Chemical etching

Aircraft engine manufacturing typically uses etching and phosphating lines. These chemical process lines provide a highly-effective solution for most production needs. We have experience in a wide range of projects, including those that take place at hazardous chemical sites. Innovative technical solutions in material options, control systems, and work safety features are now integral in every design.

These smaller compact lines are quick and easy to move and erect. The units are always tested and pre-assembled before delivery, causing minimal disruption to production during delivery and installation.

Non-destructive testing lines

Non-destructive testing (NDT) and component cleaning are closely related. Through our experience of cleaning, we have developed an extensive knowledge of the fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) process and the systems required. Our FPI systems utilise our know-how of automation and process control to provide consistency and traceability time after time.

Solvent cleaning systems

In the aerospace industry, where water-based cleaning is not possible and the application requires specialist solvent-based cleaning to remove it, Turbex’s professional cleaning equipment is more than up to the job. We understand that, in aerospace, components need to be oil & particle-free and clear of any eroding substances which will reduce the life of your components. Our machines will offer just that. Safe to use and cost-effective to run, our solvent cleaning solution produces optimum results, every time.

Drying systems

A variety of drying techniques are available, including hot air, infrared, and vacuum drying. Through discussion, we can advise on the most cost-effective drying technique for your application.
